time

spare me time, not dime;
i say.

spare me time, not dime.
for in time can i truly see you,
slowly letting me in to a space
to none you ever showed before;
while i begin to peel off my walls
and letting you in in return.

spend time on me, not dime.
for in time can we get lost, farther and deeper
to a world of dreams;
of dreams, thoughts, sorrow, joy, hatred, and love
a world where lay pieces of ourselves,
be put together as founding bricks;
strong and sturdy.

spend time on me, not dime.
for only in time can i find shelter from my chaotic mind,
with the warmth of your presence
and the light in your eyes.

spare me time, not dime.
ask me ‘what do you want?’ again,
and to this answer i remain.
